LET’S TALK PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

Carpet

Carpet can be divided into two basic categories, Nylon or Polyester.

Nylon is a great choice for heavy traffic areas. It wears very well when properly maintained and will give you years of lasting beauty in virtually any room. It comes in a dazzling array of styles, weights and colors. Polyester is Nylon’s younger sibling. It is more sensitive to heavy traffic areas and typically will not give you the same life span as Nylon. However, it also resists stains better than a standard Nylon and is typically less expensive. Also a lot of Polyester’s are now made from recycled materials.

Laminate Flooring

This product is most often designed to imitate natural wood planking but with mostly man-made materials. The advantages of laminate flooring are many. A good laminate is extremely durable and will not nick dent or scratch as easily as real wood. They are topically very resistant to water damage. Much easier to replace on a single or multiple board scenario. Less expensive than real wood while maintaining that vibrant real wood look. They come in an abundant amount of styles and colors.

LVP/LVT

Luxury vinyl plank and luxury vinal tile are man-made products designed to imitate natural wood or natural stone. They offer price advantages and durability over their natural counterparts. While they are not quite as durable as laminate flooring, they are absolutely waterproof. While still maintaining ease of installation, replacement or removal. These also come in a huge variety of colors and style options while maintaining a great natural look.

SHEET VINYL

Sheet Vinyl has been around for as long as I can remember and is more common in households than almost every other flooring option out there. It is typically the lowest cost option of all the ones we have or will mention. It is the least durable flooring option and one of the more difficult options for installation.

TILE

Tiles can be divided into three categories. Ceramic, Porcelain and natural stone.

Ceramic tiles

These are similar to the clay pots we made in pottery class in High School. They are a clay mixture that is fired at high temperature in a kiln, shaped, then coated to look like a natural stone or a design. They are available in an abundant number of colors and designs. Due to the specifics of the materials used to make them, they are water absorbent and more brittle than their ceramic counterparts. These are not recommended for outside use in areas with temperature ranges from hot to freezing.

Porcelain tiles

These are made in much the same way as ceramic tiles are. The key ingredients however vary. This allows porcelain tiles to be harder, less porous and therefore suitable for outside use in most climates. Both of these tiles can be produced to look like just about anything. The most common however are looks of wood or natural stone.

Stone tiles

These are simply mother nature made to size by man. They are natural stones and can look like any stone in nature. They are, however, prone to water seepage and therefore must always be sealed either by design or after purchase. They are very suitable for both inside and outside projects. They are not as budget friendly as their man-made cousins in general.

CABINETS

There are many different types of styles and materials when it comes to cabinets in today’s world! You can do the simplicity of a white shaker door with soft closed hinges or elegant hickory raised panel with beading and beautiful crown molding to the ceiling. Cabinets have freedom in design with making your kitchen space functional for everyday use, as well as adding a statement piece in your home.

HARDWOOD

Enjoy the timeless charm of hardwood that stays stylish and durable for years. Beyond looks, our floors bring comfort and sophistication to your home, making it a welcoming place for family and friends. Easy to maintain and built to last, choosing our hardwood flooring not only enhances your home’s appearance but also boosts its overall value. Transform your home with the warmth and quality of hardwood, making your floors a statement of enduring style and taste.

COUNTERTOPS

Countertop materials come in two basic types, Manmade and Natural.

Although there are many manmade materials used for countertops, cement, chorion etc. We will mostly be dealing with Quartz. Quartz is a manmade stone looking substance comprised of ground up Quartzite, silica, color dyes and binding agents, it is produced under high heat and pressure into a slab material. This material frequently will resemble colors and patterns that are very rare or impossible to find in nature. This material has the advantage of being uniform from one slab to the next with no discernable differences in color or pattern between slabs. It also has a linear strength that exceeds its natural counterparts. It is however easier to micro-puncture, scratch or damage with heat. You never want to cut on this type of surface or put anything hot directly on it. Also, coasters are a must for drinks and plant cozies for plant pots.

Natural Granite

This is a generic term that is used to describe several subsections of natural stone. In general Granite is a hard natural stone that has a dazzling array of colors and patterns, from solid black to more vibrant colors. No two slabs are ever identical [Mother nature is not a copycat} It is a great material for durability and maintenance. It simply requires a good sealing product upon installation. Petroleum based is recommended over a water based for longer performance.

MARBLE

Marble is a beautiful stone that have been used for sculptures and building materials. It is frequently colored in the white to bluish grey hues. It is a softer stone and should never be cut on directly. Like all natural stone a good sealant is a must upon installation.

QUARTZITE

Quartzite is one of the most vibrant natural stones. Colors can range from whites and creams to seafoam green and vibrant red’s. It is also the hardest stone on earth that is not considered a gemstone. It is an oceanic stone comprised of multiple layers of silica compressed over millions of years by the weight of water. Its composition makes it extremely durable. It is typically more expensive due to its rarity and must be sealed upon installation. Maintaining this beautiful stone is fairly easy and not time consuming. This is a truly unique and beautiful option!
